Cumbria EBP offers two types of work experience programmes: Block Placement and Extended Placement.
What is Work ExperienceWork Experience is a placement on employers’ premises in which a learner carries out a particular task or duty, or range of tasks or duties, more or less as would an employee, but with the emphasis on the learning aspects of the experience. Work Experience can be for pre 16 or post 16 students and can be either block or extended. We can guide you through health and safety legislation and processes relating to Work Experience to minimise the impact on your resources and operations. We can also support you as outlined below, but if you have a specific need, please contact our Work Experience team to discuss this further. Central coordination of placements through Cumbria EBPEmployers can avoid been targeted by several placement vetting organisations by subscribing to Cumbria EBP. Cumbria EBP can act as your sole contact for Work Experience. Inform us of how many placements you can offer and when you can offer them and we will take responsibility for dealing directly with all our participating schools as well as using our expertise to match suitable students to your offers.
